In the interest of our clients and to ensure the safety and well-being of Montrose residents, we strictly apply the following admission criteria:
- Only clients who are 18 years or older are eligible for admission.
- A referral letter and pre-admission assessment must precede the admission of the client. (The pre-admission assessment is attached.)
- On admission the client must sign permission for the release of confidential information to the client’s referring doctor and/or treatment centre.
- Clients must have a BMI of at least 16.5 and be deemed medically fit by a doctor. In cases where the BMI is less than 16.5, treatment options can be discussed. Primary treatment is a prerequisite for Anorexia Nervosa.
- In the case of Anorexia Nervosa or Bulimia Nervosa, blood tests including Full Blood Count, Electrolytes, Liver Function, Urea and Creatinine and TSH must be sent to Montrose prior to admission.
- In the case of Binge Eating Disorder, blood tests including Thyroid function, Lipid Profile and Blood Glucose must be sent to Montrose prior to admission. If the client is on medication, a prescription from a medical practitioner is required.
- The client must agree to be transferred to a local primary treatment facility should the client require more intensive care.
